Try the following jam recipes this autumn

During autumn people start making their own preserves, because they want to make sure that even during the winter they will be able to enjoy the sweet taste of fruits. If you lack inspiration this autumn, or you simply want to add some new recipes to your collection, here are some types of jam everyone in your house will love.

Fig and earl grey jam

It will not take more than an hour to prepare this jam. You will need 1.5 kilo of ripe figs, 1 kilo of sugar, 10 grams of earl grey tealeaves and the juice from one lemon.

 Cut the figs into tiny slices, place them in a saucepan together with the tea leaves and set the heat at a minimum for around 5 minutes. Then you should slowly add the lemon juice and sugar and stir until you obtain an even composition. Let them cook for around 10 minutes after the sugar dissolved and make sure to check them from time to time to not get sticky.

 Once the jam is ready, you should pour it into jars and seal them immediately. It is recommended the jam to be stored in a cool and dark place. If you do not have one at home, a great idea is to rent a public storage Philadelphia and to take them there.

Roasted yellow peach and fennel jam

This jam is ready in around 2 hours. For it, you will have to use 2 large fennel bulbs with stalks, the juice from 1 lemon, 900 grams of sugar, 2 kilos of yellow peaches and 150 grams of demerara sugar.

You will have to cut the fennel in slices and to put them in an ovenproof dish in a single layer. Then you will have to cut the peaches in halves, sprinkle on them demerara sugar and let them roast for around 60 minutes. When the peaches are cooked and they start to get a nice colour you should take them out from the oven and let them cool. Put the peaches into a saucepan, together with the fennel, take the fennel out and let them cook for around 10 minutes.

 Add to the composition the lemon juice and the rest of the sugar. Once they are cooked, and put in the jars, you have to take them to your storage space.

Greek tomato jam

You will have to spend around 2 hours to prepare this jam. You need 1.6 kilos of tomatoes, 200 ml apple cider vinegar, 650 grams of sugar and 2 cinnamon sticks.

You will have to peel off the tomatoes, because for the jam you will need only the flesh. Then you will have to cut the tomatoes in halves and place them in a saucepan, together with the cinnamon for around 10 minutes. When the tomatoes will start breaking down, you can add the vinegar and sugar and then you will have to let the composition to cook for around 20 minutes.

Once the jam is ready to be placed in jars, make sure to sterilise them and store them in a dark place.
